Default Advice/WTB: Hypertech Programmer for Hypertech Power Tuning Module 96 Corvette LT4

I just had an EWP put on and replaced the two temp sensors, hottest it will get is 230 and drop to 217 while in traffic after heavy driving. Readings with an infrared temp thermometer under the hood are between 175 - 200. Mechanic said and from my research, that the Hypertech PTM needs to be programmed with a Hypertech programmer so the fans will come on sooner. Before the EWP temps would get up to 234 so the EWP helped a little bit, but ultimately I would like it a bit cooler because I am in Florida. I purchased the car with the Hypertech already installed. I do see some of the newer Hypertech products but unsure if they will work with this specific module. Would the older Hypertech Programmer 3 work? I have found a couple for sale but they seemed it be geared toward trucks only. I emailed Hypertech in the meantime and I am waiting for a response. I see that the Jet Tuning product line will work but I want to get keep the Hypertech PTM where it is on my car. I also did the gaskets for the intake and found out the heads and intake are ported as well. I just figured I'd inquire here as I wait for a response from Hypertech to see if anyone has a similar car and *fingers crossed* the actual programmer for this module. I can maybe even borrow your programmer to just adjust my fan settings and send it back to you. Thanks all.

Found a couple more threads on this matter and it appears I need a specific part number for the programmer and it needs to be 'unlocked'. If anyone has one and is looking to sell let me know, thank you.

If your engine is ported, it more than likely already has a tune. If it doesn't it is not optimized. The HPT is pretty much junk, and does not offer much IMHO. I would reach out to solomon and inquire about a bench tune to see if your PCM already has existing changes and he can modify the fans.

Still haven’t heard back from him, do you happen to have an email? I see he doesn’t have LT4 listed on his site either, and I would be a little leary about mailing out my pcm but I would like to speak with him nonetheless.

Tuner who wants almost a grand across the state said he is taking a “big risk” by doing this and admitted it could fry the pcm, so I am definitely going to pass on that.

Made a post in the WTB section in the meantime for the programmer, maybe I’ll get lucky.

He did do LT4 cars, and I believe he still does. He was one of the few offering mail order help for LT4's He would send you the cabling and have drive logs requested/dyno and send updated files for you to load.
