C4 Radio Issues
The Bose stereo (original equipment) has stopped working properly. It appears that a fuse (not an issue) or a circuit breaker is being set. Most times after sitting for a while with ignition off, then turning the ignition on and turning the radio on, the antenna will go up (most times). The radio may or may not work, the display flickers. With the radio off, it is not possible to set the time. In fact the time never changes.
I suspect a faulty antenna motor.

Thanks for the replies, my car is a 1994, always garage kept and seldom saw any rain in its 80K miles. The symptoms appear similar in that when it does come on it raises the antenna, it may play intermittently for a few seconds the display blinks as in a loose connection. The antenna does lower when you turn the ignition off. No other displays seem to be affected except the clock on the radio display which has a constant time and not adjustable

Your antenna is not causing your radio to be flaky. When it is On your radio simply sends +12 volts to the antenna motor. When the radio comes on and off that voltage comes and goes too.
