I consider it better to get a newer MAF and tune out the code 36. One of those "while I'm in there" moments to:
1) Disable VATS
2) Convert from EEPROM to a flash chip
3) Read the tune....if you dare
No doubt that's so, there are a lot of people that don't want to get into the whole tuning thing though.
If there wan an "analog" solution to the burn off failure it might be worth something to somebody.
Course you have to find a correctly reading newer MAF too.
Depending on who you ask that's easier said than done.
