Do you have to put the wires on the cap before installing it. Which cylinfer number has tge 135 degree boot.
p.s. is there a chart with the wire length and cylinder number?
I would install them one at a time so you can get the correct length for each. No where I know that list individual lengths. 135 goes to #6, 3rd from the front, passenger side.

I have a set of "factory reproduction" wires for my '84 that I got from Top Flight a while back, just haven't had the desire to change the plugs and wires just yet. I'm thinking the wire lengths listed on the instructions are similar to your '85. Hope this helps.
The box says '84 only but I think it has more to do with OEM originality. Can't imagine why the lengths would be much different than an '85. In case you lost track of where each wire goes. Haha.

It snaps on top of the coil cover after all the plug wires are re-attached to the distributor cap. It catches on the spots where the words "latch" are. Once you see it, it seems so simple but I get why it's confusing. It took me a minute to remember how I had removed it in the first place since I had it apart for a week waiting for AC/Delco coil and ICM to arrive to replace the Pertronix Flame Thrower junk I tried first.
I think the holes are for plug wires that have the numbers printed on top of the terminals.
I get how the wires attach to the top plate and how the plate attached to the cap but as you can see from the picture, the firewall is in the way. The plate wont go on the cap.
