Default Wiper motor problem

Hi folks, I am replacing my wiper motor due to a failure to go into park. Somewhere along the way I now have nothing except the washer pump. The 25 amp fuse is good and I can get the motor to run by powering the two wire plug in on the bottom of the motor. Any suggestions? Thanks, Bob

I checked the Chevrolet repair manual for 1985 and discovered a bad ground but I still have a no park condition. I have a newer used assembly that I plan on splicing in the two lower wires and see if that fixes the problem. Chevrolet seemed to change the service manual every year. Makes it hard to follow all the possibilities!

On my 85, the "mechanical arm" rotated around a plastic post which broke off the housing, and caused pretty much the symptoms you have now. I drilled it out and put a 1/8" pop rivet in, compressing the installation point, but not breaking off the spike, with the spike now becoming the post. It's worked well for 4 years now. Worth removing the plastic housing and seeing what condition the insides are.
