I've done this to other GM vehicles but I have yet to do this on the C4. Upon purchase I took the word of the PO that it was throwing a code 43 and that was the rabbit hole I went after. Fixed the erroneous wires and SES light "poof" gone!!!
How is your fuel pump currently wired ?
Did you ever check the 4 pin connector at back of distributor ?
Is there 12v at oil pressure switch and does the switch close when cranking motor ?

everything but the fuel injectors seem to be working
If you’re confident that pump wiring is functional and the ECM is getting a reference signal from pump circuit, I would test if your ignition control module is the problem with no injector pulse.
Unplug the 4 pin connector at back of distributor and plug your noid light into injector harness then turn ignition on.
Take a test light connected to positive battery terminal and briefly touch the purple/white wire in the 4 pin connector that goes to ECM.
The noid light should flash every time you touch and remove the test light from the purple/white wire.
If it does flash, the problem is the ignition control module.

Yanno...PO of my 90 C4 has a thread about encountering a no start condition. Seemed he went down the CCM repair avenue. Dunno if that was the cause of the issue but brings up another question, is the CCM something that can be deleted from the vehicle??? Just throwing this out since all the other suggestions seem to lead to a dead end.
1. With the key in RUN, is the Service Engine Soon light ON? (It should / must be.)
2. With the key in RUN are you still getting a SYS message? (If yes, this may or may not be associated with the no-start.)
3. Did you follow the instructions in Post #21 and retrieve the ECM codes? (If the ECM is not powering up you can't retrieve codes. I can't tell from the thread if you have an SES light or not.) Code 46, if present, means there will be no injection.
4. Is the SECURITY light solid-On with the key in RUN? (Not "flashing" with a door open and the key OFF, which is normal.)
No, the CCM can not be deleted unless you want to install different instrumentation. One of the functions of the CCM is to process the data for the Speedometer LCD. The LCD is just a dumb display, the processing for it is done in the CCM.
Using the diagram in Post #21, jumper cavities A and G. (Top Right to Bottom Left.)
Turn key to RUN, watch Speedometer. There will be a small number which indicates the module (1 = CCM, or 4 = ECM) in the fuel area and a larger Code number in the speed area.
Watch the codes, write them down including the little module number. If you get lost or want to see them again, turn the key OFF, wait 10 seconds, and turn key to RUN. It starts over.
Report back with the codes. There will be C code(s) in Module 1. This is why the SYS message is present.
Answer 4 questions, pull the codes with the onboard diagnostics using A and G. Report back.

Duly noted. Don’t want to muck up this thread…mainly asked because there was some mention of carb swapping. For me, I was merely asking for swapping to a PCM that could control a 4l60E or 4l80E.
Ahhh…but I don’t think I want change the under hood connectors.
