Hey, I installed a stronger spring a while back when my original rear spring failed so I need to lower my rear end slightly more than possible with stock bolts, 1987 car, those new longer bolts are expensive! Anyone got a couple of longer bolts you aren't using? or suggest a supplier for more reasonably priced bolts?

I made my own from alloy threaded rod and welded nut on one end.
The rod was fairly cheap.
I switched to coilovers, if you were close, I would give you the bolts.
Thanks guys, DIY lives large here, lol, I am learning that I can buy bolts from local parts shops that might work fine. No sure about the hardness but I'm checking it out now. Will update.
I have also found that the spacers mounted center above the rear spring..there are three..all three are on top, if I swap those three to the bottom wouldn't I get a 1/2 or 3/4 inch lower? Seems like it to me, why not? Anybody?
I found that bolts from Home Depot etc and the local auto parts shops are either a poor match or a dead end so if I may order the lowering bolts offered online by various vendors.. I'll go with the 2" ..I can add spacers if I get too low.
I found out from an old thread here that the shims above the center of the rear spring can be moved to under the spring for a quick lowering job. I have three shims above the spring..none below..so today I'm going with that change unless I hear differently. I only need about an inch so I'll update after a test drive.
just to update, I have three shims above the rear leaf, I believe two above and one below is bone stock..perhaps the mechanic who put a replacement spring on the car decades ago used his best judgement for ride height or whatever.. the rear end was higher when I got the car back from that job but since I traveled with more "stuff" back then I accepted it like that and it didn't bother me .. for now I am not changing the shims but today I put tsome new 1" lowering bolts on it and the car handles better. Time will tell.
