no, I will when I take the TPI off. I was hoping there was a way to find the one or ones that are leaking before doing so. I don't want to buy another set of injectors
to answer your question, yes I took the TPI off raised the fuel rail so I could see the bottom of the injectors. I pinched the return line off and it still blead down to 0. I then leving the retrun pinched off I applied 45 psi and pinched the feed line off and the pressure held.
I have two questions. so what if it bleed down to 0 when the switch is turned off as long as it has 45 psi starting and 40 psi running.
the second question is when starting cold my cold start injector fires as long as I'm cranking the engine but nither side of the main injectors fire. is that the way it is suppose to be or should my injectors on one side fire also.
So the bleeding is through the feed, the starter only applies power tho the 9th injector when cranking and the timer switch is closed. All your other injectors are ecm controls led and enable after vats handshake and 400 rpm or higher drp distributor reference pulse is seen.
thank you that helps. I did see at the end of starting that # 5 and # 7 sprayed just a very little gas. do you think that these 2 injectors are leaking? going to bench test all injectors the best I can.
when starting cold my cold start injector fires as long as I'm cranking the engine
This is correct.
However: The 9th injector should NOT fire when the engine has warmed up. (The thermo time switch should open at 105F, and the 9th injector is deactivated).
If the 9th injector is opening during cranking on a warm engine, this could be the cause of the hot restart problem (which is the title of this 85-post thread).
No, the engine was cold. the 9th injector is the only one that fire as long as I was cranking the engine but like I said, # 5 and # 7sprayed just a little and the end of cranking the engine.
I wanted to post the fix for the cold start and no start warm. It turns out that I was checking the power with the switch on start and not when it was running. I found out that I had the power wire to the computer connected to the fuse block in a slot that onlly had power when on start. I moved the power wire to a slot that had power on start and run. fixed everything. I want to thank everyone that tried to help.
