Default Convertible Roll Bar

I am looking for a roll bar for a friend's C4 Convertible. If anyone has pics of a clean install and info to help, it would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. Chris

This is the only one I found:

Look under chassis stiffners.

I haven't seen any installed. I want one so I can run on the track again.

Someone said to buy the hard top...

I have a DRM bar in my coupe and love it. I haven't seen any installed in convertibles either though. I think we may have our work cut out for us. Thanks anyway.

At one time I was also looking for a rollbar for my Vert. I discovered that an NHRA legal bar must be six point, transecting aproximatly your ancles, knees and sholders in the front and also 2 bars angling out to the rear at the same degree as the front bars. Quite alot for a street car in my opinion.
I settled for a removable hardtop. This agreed with the tech inspectors and now I'm allowed back on the track. At least untill 11.99.
Good luck with your project,

Thanks for the pic. Did the bar come from DRM with the center bar or did you add that? Where does it attach in the front? Did you bolt or weld and did you run into any trouble with mounting locations? Will the hardtop fit now? Thanks again. My buddy's ride is a '94 triple black! Perfect picture for us to get an idea of how she'll look. Thanks again. Chris

Chis, the roll bar came with the center bar (called an "aft bar"), it was installed by Mike at DRM and he did a perfect job. The aft bar bolts to the center of the main hoop and runs diagonally down to the passenger door sill just about centered above the speaker below the sill. It has 2 bolts there into the frame.

So you can just unbolt 4 bolts and remove the aft bar if you want to take a passenger with you that might be uncomfortable with having the bar running in front of them.

The main hoop has a "foot" on each side that is bolted and welded to the frame, as well as another tube in an ell shape on each side with a foot that is bolted and welded to the frame.

I know this is hard to picture the way I've described it, but the point I'm trying to get across, is that the main hoop is attached to the frame at 2 points on each side and the aft bar is bolted to the frame through the door sill on the passenger side.

I don't have a hard top for my vette, so I'm not sure how that would be affected. But, I do know that my soft top works the same as it always did.
