pulling engine on a 85
hello,can someone tell me if I can pull the tranny with the engine at the same time,its an auto trans........thanks

Yes but you must remove the hood.

thanks for the answer,I did a search here before I posted and didnt find much, what I did fiind was that all seemed to be leavin the tranny in the car.

I have my 85 engine all disconnected and will pull the motor this weekend with the hood on.

I removed my engine with the hood on and had plenty of clearence. Not sure if that would be possible with tranny attached still.

Yes I pulled my engine (by itself) with the hood on, but to get both out the hood will have to come off. Unless your a good Hudini.

I pulled my engine and trans togther with the hood on. I had to because I couldnt separate my headers from the Y-pipe. All you need to do is put the back of the car up on jack stands or ramp and use an engine leveler. I bought mine from Pep Boys years ago. There nice to have even if you dont pull the trans because with the leveller you can set the angle of the engine so it lines straight up with the trans and the mounts during installs

With the hood on? That would be nice cause the bell housinbolts are a &*!^@$% to get to!
