Default Brake Bias Spring

I am in the middle of upgrading my brakes to J55's with drilled/slotted rotors. I've been told I that while I am at it I should put in a bias spring in the master cylinder. I've read that this shortens your stopping distances by 20 feet. Course they don't tell from what speed. Has anyone done this, is it worthwhile. Does it put more braking to the rear or to the front? Has anyone tried one of those adjustable proportioning valves? thanks for your responses.

Jim

I have the spring and it helped. How much of it was the spring I could not tell ya because I did the spring the same time I did a rotor upgrade and started using a more Aggressive pad. Overall I think the braking is more balanced due to the increased rear bias. If you buy it get it from Doug Rippie for 13 bucks.

It was not bad at all. One of the easier mods I have done to the Vete. Here is a link to an old thread with some tec hints an overall evaluation of the spring.
