You might also look at MSD 8.5mm Super Conductors and NGK TR55IX plugs if money is no problem and you don't want to change plugs as often as some do. I'm expecting the Made For You Looms to set it all off. I'll let everyone know how it works when I get the looms.
[QUOTE]I run the red MSD 8.5mm SuperConductor wires on the IROC as they have the losest resistance (50Ohm/ft).
On the Vette I run TPIS wires as they look stock and fit stock looms; they are much lower resistance than stock wires
/QUOTE] MSD super conductor has 45 ohms per foot not 500.
Taylor and MSD are both good but I would not consider anything else. When I installed my MSD digital 7 race box I had a new set of Moroso blue Max wires and the voltage came right through the side of them and looked like arc welder under the hood. I installed the MSD Super conductor wires problem solved.
does anyone know what exactly better wires do for you? i mean obviously less resistence but when combined with something good like NGK plugs can you expect any increase in horsepower at all? just increased throttle response? help fillme in here
Good wires and plugs will not give you more horsepower than your motor is built for. What it does do for you is it makes sure that you are getting the best possible most efficient spark you can get. This should keep the motor at optimal performance, provide better gas milage, and have better idle characteristics. In otherwords, using a good set of wires and plugs will help it run like new again.
Just to clarify, good plugs and wires are not going to give you more hosepower, but using inferior or old/worn out plugs and wires will give you less. ;)
They are BY FAR the best and most reliable wires I have ever used/seen. I know guys that have had them for ~5 yrs with no problems under race enviroments.
They look like jumper cables, and I think they are pretty
Here is a picture, it tough to tell how big they are, but they are nearly .5 inch diameter! Actually .409 hence the name.
