Help!!! On my '92 LT1... I have noticed a difference in the temp readings between the digital readout, and the mechanical gauge... is this a comon problem? For example... the oil temp digital readout will be 205 degree's and the mechanical gauge will read less than 150 degree's. And my coolant temp is doing the same thing... Do I have a relay or a sensor that is going bad? :flag
there is always (it seems) a difference between the two, it shouldn't be a huge difference, but in my car, the analog is about 20 degrees off or so (or the digital i guess) :D
Re: Gauges... Digital vs. Mechanical (Garys '92 LT1)
Yea, same hear Gary. My oil temps are way different, coolant temps are much closeer together. BTW did you get the my e-mail on the cut lid. :seeya :flag
Yep, I got your e-mail about the "Cut Lid"... and I'm going to be going that this weekend, as well as the TB bypass.... I made a copy of your e-mail. I really appreciate your input.... THANKS MAN!!!! :flag :steering: :seeya
Re: Gauges... Digital vs. Mechanical (Garys '92 LT1)
The part of my owner's manual video even mentions this, they take their readings from different sensors. The gauges are just meant to be approximate, with the everything working properly the digital readout is the most accurate.
