Default 52mm Throttle Body Install Question

I just got a new BBK 52mm TB for my 85. I noticed that the accordian hose to the MAF is not big enough to fit the TB. What do other people do to install this item? Does someone make a larger diameter hose? Thanks for any help.

Personally I'd install it in the box it came in. Any particular reason you went with a 52mm? Big mods planned down the road?

The reason I got it is my stock TB has shot bushings (a LOT of play at the throttle cable mount) and I've had problems with idle lately that this may be partly to blame. I do plan on some intake and exhaust mods in the next 6mos-year period, and since I was planning on replacing the TB, I figured I probably would be OK.

My stock tube was a bit of a stretch to get it to fit over my holley TB. With a little effort you should be able to make it fit.

You can heat it in boiling water a little so it expands, or use a blow-drier. You may have to buy a new duct and stretch it on by heating it. But it will definately fit if you heat it a little to stretch it.

If youre having idle problems with the stock TB installed, the 52mm wont help it, unless theres a vacuum leak with the TB/Plenum junction.

But if youre doing MAJOR intake mods soon, it will be ok to use a 52mm.
