I am replacing my stock injectors, I understand there are various different options. I assumed 30lb ones and I've actually heard that the Ford SVO ones are an option. Any thoughts/suggestions? Also I can't seem to find any "SVO" branded injectors at Summit, does anyone have a part number?
What mods do you have. 30lb injectors are very big for a stock motor. I bought from the cheaper end of the spectrum and went with Accel #24lbs and a AFPR. I've put 5K miles on them without any problem. Some people say the Ford #24lb SVO injectors are much better.
Right now the motor is out of the car just having been rebuilt. It's a stock LT1 short block, LT4 intake and heads, LT4 cam (hot cam kit which included the springs and rockers), heavy duty timing chain, 52mm TB, power effects exhaust, McLeod clutch and pressure plate.....
I think you may be right about LT1 injectors being rated at 24lbs., but I'm not 100% sure.
Be a little careful with Ford injectors. They are a great product (made my Bosche for Ford) but they are rated at a lower pressure than the stock GM ones. Stock GM injectors are rated at 43.5psi, while Ford injectors are rated at 39.5psi. This will affect the flow rate; the higher the pressure, the higher the flow rate.
Check out the link below - there's alot of good info and a couple of formulas at the bottom of the page regarding fuel injector sizing.
