Has anyone replaced their our door seal?
I ordered mine from Mid America, the one on sale for $59.99 (part #603-923).
What I go was the ones that were not on sale $89.99 (part #612-233).
The difference being not only the price, but that the more expencive ones were GM without instuctions and rivets.
I checked my Service manual and it doesn't show any rivets. It does however talk about "clips".
Has anyone actually done this before and could walk me through the steps?
I was considering sending the seals back but they were on back order and took an extra 2 weeks to get :cuss .
If it isn't too hard to do I might as well as keep them.
Thanks
Remove door panel
loosen inner felt pads that ride the inside of the glass
drill out the four rivets
remove screws at each end of main weatherstrip
carefully pry up end of seal and work to other end
install new seal loosely to make sure all clips align with holes
start each clip into each hole then from end press firmly in
install four rivets
install the two screws from the main weatherstrip
install door panel
Again make sure that you loosen those felt bumpers or you will have a real pain trying to re and re that seal. Good Luck!!

I did both of mine in about 90 minutes (taking out the window on one side before I knew I could get by without it), so not too bad.
I agree that 3/8" rivets should work, but I only put them on the outter ends. The clips are tight enough as is, and to get the inner rivets it requires more work and time...
Try and use 3/16 by 3/8 rivets and put tape on the drill so that it will not go through the door! The hard part for me was getting the clips in and seated.
If you can get a copy of Corvette Fever May 2003 they have an article on C4 Door Repair.
1. Remove the interior door panel. screws under the the interior light and inside the door pull area. lock slider will need to be removed (pry off with small bladed screw driver) Pass door has a bolt behind the window switch (removed by prying off) Driver side remove armrest. Unplug all connections. Drivers side has connection to trunk release bottom back behind panel.
2. use putty knife to pry the weatherstrip at the front and rear of the door, after removing bolts. Try not to rip the weatherstrip.
3. Use a small punch to push out center of old rivits, Drill out rivets using a 3/16 inch bit (put tape on bit to keep it from going through the door).
4. remove old weather stripping using downward pressure to help free the clips.
5. install new weatherstrip. Be careful not to bend the new strip.
Be extra careful when you drill out the old rivets. Another tip, if you find an empty box whose height is approximately the same as the distance to the bottom of your door, you can place it under the door and when you remove the door panel you can support it on the box without having all of your door electricals disconnected. This saves a fair amount of time since you won't have to disconnect and recconect electric locks, courtesy lights, hatch release switches, etc.
Thanks to all for the help.
I finished both doors yesterday.
Can anyone tell me what kind of adhesive thats used or what will work on the top strip of the door paneling?
The drivers side was only held in place by the two screws that hold the vent in the top.
Thanks
Be careful drilling out the old rivets. You DO NOT want to punch into the fibergalss.
