I think more of you guys should consider doing the th400/Gear Vendors conversion I did. This is the only way to go for a high h/p car. I am very happy I did it. You will be too. There is a page on my web site that tells a bit about doing it.
Are you a rep, own stock, or just really really happy with it???

Good question, Raman. As a matter of fact I have no connection whatsoever to Gear Vendors. I simply had read quite a bit about their product and I called them up and talked to them about it. I decided to buy one and give it a go. Their tech people were very helpful on the phone. The owner/president of the company is a Vette guy and he even gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him directly if I had any questions/problems with it. I wish my plugs for their product could get me some sort of deal or something but I don't think they will. I simply shout loudly about how well this setup works because I like it.

I've heard good things about this set up too.
You just can't can't beat a turbo-400 when it comes to handling big HP.
This set up just has OD.
I've got a th-400 as I stated earlier and pound the crap out of it.
I push about 700 hp at the fly wheel no problems!
But right now, "don't need no stinkin' overdrive".
When I do...I'll call gear vendors!

The ZF-6 in "R" car was replaced before we got it. Why, I don't know. I've been through a few clutches, but other than that, no problems.

Now my '76 F*ord Granda race car I use to have would go through a C4 tranny (F*rd tranny not GM) about once a year. I was seriously considering putting a C6 tranny in there, but I would have had to build a new tunnel and the car was totalled before I every got that far.
