Default Help!!!!!!!!!! Still trying!

To start with, I have a 92 with ecm 16159278, and I am having no luck! I tried building the max232 interface and the two transistor interface, I've tried freescan, EFIlive v4, OBDII, & Datamaster, BUT I'm not getting anything! I was wanting to try some free software & and a make your own interface, but I'm getting no where. I'm I doing some thing wrong or is there a trick or two to making this combunation work. Whick software do you recommend for a 92 and whick interface? Hopefully I can get somewhere soon, I'm trying to add a blower a deadline.

You can buy the kit from Andrew at:
http://www.akmcables.com

Tell him what you are doing and he will supply you with the correct parts. I use his cables and for a 93 and earlier car you need a powered up cable. The later OBD2 style connectors for late 94/95 LT1 cars had that used the later OBD2 style connector had 12v at the connector. The earlier square ALDL port didn't have power to them so you have to supply it via the cigarette lighter. My cable has an external power source connector which plugs into the cigarette lighter socket.

Thanks for the reply, but maybe you missed the part about free. I don't really have much to spend and until I see it is going to work. I am in between jobs and don't want to spend any money unless I KNOW it is going to work and is what I'm looking for.

Ahh, well I can assure you that the cables work. I use the very same cables from Andy and I and I know others here in this forum can testify that Andys cables are of very good quality and he stands by his products.
