yeap... save the money and do it by yourself... or take it to someone to do it for you (as I did)... I've fixed 4 amps and they all work... (for $25 all 4 amps heheh) :cool:
You just need to look for and replace leaking capacitors... I used the ZR-1.net guide as my reference... good luck

DrDons may do good work, but either the owner or someone working for him is a total AHOLE. There are lots of good cheaper alternatives :rant:

The best long term advice is to forget about Bose all together, rip the junk out of your vette and get a decent aftermarket system. You'll be glad you did :cheers:

The Bose stuff was outdated garbage when these cars were brand new....even a Sony from WalMart will sound 10X better

Ok, I wanted to keep it original, but maybe I should do this. Do you change the wiring and all the speakers along with the system? Or does someone make a wiring harness that allows you to use the existing wiring?

it ain't that simple. the blose system is so integrated.
I don't think it was behind the times, just not very good quality for the $$.
The drivers are junk.
I would suggest moving this over to the audio section.
You will need to run new wire. it will be better in the long run.
