I know that any car project cannot be assumed "easy" however I have heard some horror storys for longtube header installs on C4's. I'm going to be ordering some TPIS headers in about a month, I went out to look at my car and I can see and get to all of the bolts very very easy. I'm going to have to take off the alternator to get to some of them but thats all I can see. Am I missing somthing hear?
Also what are you guys running for X-pipes? pictures installed and not would be great. Thanks
Nathan
No too bad of a project. I have LPEs on my car. One thing though: You need to get the front end up pretty high to get them in. If you can get use of a lift, it will save a ton of work and :banghead:
The worst bolt is the one on the back of the passenger side. Takes me longer to get that one bolt out than it does to do all of the rest of them. Having and using the right tool is the key to getting it off and on in reasonable amounts of time.
After all the work up.....yes they work great.....easy install....but what about the smog legal stuff????????
In Southern CA......I won't take a chance....because I love driving my vette...without the smog **** problems.....
Sooooooooooooooooo....

I have the TPIS lon tubes on my 85. The only problem I had was that the bolt tubes were slightly misalligned, so I had to clearance them with a dremel tool. After that they went in perfectly with no header clearance problems. They are excellent headers, although a bit pricey.
