Roller Cam???
Can a roller cam be used on a built up L83 engine?????? Without special maching??????

I don't think it would require special machining but it would require lifters with links to prevent rotation along with a cam button at cam cover to prevent the cam from "walking" forward.

There is an adapter kit for it, but you might as well use the old style with that engine.

Im using my 73 block with comp. cams retro. style lifters,comp cams 7.4 pushrods,and a crane roller cam button.Lately theres a been a few guys with the same lifters on the c3 forum and there links have broken and wiped out there cams.

Underneath that funky manifold is a normal medium performance Gen I 350 engine. All pre-roller engine parts fit like any other Gen I engine. The L83 shouldn't be such a mystery. Even the heads and cam are similar, if not identical to, early L98's. Good luck, and...
