I would say for a cruiser/weekend car that Edelbrock IAS is better, its firm enough that you can get a little spirited and soft enough that you dont feel every bump in the road.
Bilstein is stiffer, more like an Autocross shock.
It depends on how you drive it as to which you pick, you could just call Bilstein and have something custom-valved to be not so hard and maybe thatll come out cheaper than a new set of Edelbrocks. I thought that the Bilsteins were more expensive, i guess everybody else raised their prices.
She sits just fine in the front, but I would expect new shocks to raise it by almost an inch if the current ones are bad.

Re: Shocks (vader86)
Shocks will not raise or lower a car, since even the gas-charged ones support virtually no weight.
I just took the Bilsteins (60k miles) off my '96 and replaced them with Edelbrocks. The Edelbrocks are slightly stiffer on smooth roads (this may be a function of the miles on the Bilsteins) and control 'stutter-bumps' just a tad better. Other than that, not much difference.
I'm thinking that new Bilsteins would have done just as good a job at 66% of the price. (At least the Edelbrocks match my Corvettes color.....)
I am the only vette I know of running Tokico blue shocks. Not bad. Handle well as my Bilsteins but don't beat me up on Houston's bad roads. I got them for 160 a set. Figured I would give them a try.
