Ignition upgrades
When I got my ignition upgrade, I went to MSD 6AL with Blaster 2 coil, rev limiter and such.
My friend is just getting a new engine for his 87 Mustang GT, and is getting MSD 6AL, TFI coil and a new MSD distributor.
I never got a new distributor, just used the stock distributor with new cap and rotor. SHould I have replaced the stock distributor, or would it have been necessary to?

Unless the stock dist is work badly I wouldn't replace it.
I just added a HyperTech coil/cap/rotor, wires & plugs for my ignition upgrade and it's been working quite well.

Stock distributor is just fine, especially with the MSD backing it up at high rpms.
