I notice mid america sells simple items that lower both the front and rear of the car. Anything wrong with using these? I notive the ones for the fronts are wedges...and ones for the rear are long bolts. Any drawbacks?
Probably only drawback is if you thought you rubbed going up and down driveways your going to more. I just left shop where they just put kit on 90 vette. Rear was extremely easy where as the front took them almost 4 hours do to fact you have to remove front spring. It looked great. I am going to tackle that job myself soon. The front went down 3/4 inch and rear they lowered it to match front since it is adjustable with the longer bolts.
I bought that very kit....now its setting on my shelve....just not worth it for just 1/2" of lowering on the front......
Just plain gave it up.......
Bought from Mid America.....should have known better...
Anyway you can try it....but be ready for major work for just the 1/2" it offers...

Re: Lowering the vette (65Z01)
Lowering the rear also makes the front tires fit the wheel wells much better; it looked so good there was no need to drop the front.
:iagree: :withstupid: I noticed after dropping the rear 1" the front appeared lower too. It looked very good for minimal effort. A few months later though, I went ahead and dropped the front with the wedges. I got 5/8" drop in front, and it looks great. You could get up to 1.25" drop with the stock spring with more work and creativity.
The product is fine, and won't have any ill effects as long as you glue them securely on the spring and shorten or shim the spring retainer brackets accordingly. I know $40 seems chinsy for a lowering kit, but all the other expensive vette stuff makes up for it.
