How can any one vote for the Trans AM, Its not even in the same league as the corvette. Maybe compairing the camaro to the TA or the mustang to the TA but not a vette. Thanks for ur in put but ur mistaken.

I love my 84, and its not as slow as some say, I have had no trouble keeping up with lots of FACTORY CARS. Including my cousins 88 GTA and my friends 85 TA and my co workers 76 VETTE. :chevy

ya you are right this is a corvette forum but that dont mean anything, i think that there are plenty of truthfull people on this site that will give the truth. I was thinking the same thing when i put it on here but i figured that people would be voting for only the corvettes. But I honestly think that the 84 is the best, in every shape and form. The main reason i asked this question is because I know people that own the 88 GTA and the 85 TA and the 76 vette and we always fight about which one is the fastest and about what one is the best.

Ok this is going to be tough for me to say but I have to take the GTA trans-am. I have a 1989 GTA with a 305 TPI and five speed that has been slightly modified with a chip, exhaust and underdrive pully's. Its a really fun car that is fast, can handle the corners and with the t-tops out is a great car to cruze around in. When I bought my 1986 vette with a automatic I was really disappointed when the vette was not able to beat the trans-am. I like the 84 vettes but the cross fire just can't hang with the TPI. I raced a 84 in my GTA and won easily. If we were talking about a 85 corvette or newer against the GTA it would be no question but however I believe the GTA is a little better then the 84.

Are you asking which is better if both were from the same year? :confused: If so the answer is obvious unless you need to haul four people around. Now it gets kind of hard to decide if you have decided you are looking at getting a '90 vette or a '97 TA etc., but even in a case where it was a newer trans am versus an older Corvette I'll take the two seater sports car please! :jester
