Since I had to tear 85% of my dash apart today to get at the flashers I wanted to change the bulb for the "door ajar" warning but it still doesn't work the bulb is good I assume no signal is getting to it ...yea my doors are open....what I'm I missing all other warning lamps except "OD" work....
Thanks,
C.
Hum...the door pin switches work the dome lights just fine, I assumed that if the dome lights worked the dash door ajar should work, I wonder if it's a different curcuit....seems the c3's with door ajar has 3 pole pin switches....
 C.
Ummmmm....I have seen one, under the top hinge, I will look much closer if there are two pin switches I wonder if the dash "door ajar" light is an option not standard.....hum.
 C.
The interior lights and the door ajar lights work on different switches. The interior lights use the white switch in the front door jam. Open a door and go to the rear edge of each door. You'll fine a small black round switch that might be stuck in on both sides. Get a small screwdriver and pop it out. Then squirt a little motor oil on it and push it in and out a few times to lubricate it.
I didn't even know I HAD a door ajar switch for the first 2 years I drove Fastguy's old car and saw his turn on. Then I found those switches.
p.s.
If you're wondering "why in the hell?" they did that... think about it. The back edge of the door moves a lot more than the inner door jam does. You want a door ajar switch to pickup a very small amount of movement and placing the switch in this location does so.

Yes, scorp I wonder why GM does alot of the things they do, in my case the black housing was there the plunger or center was gone, so what I did was remove the black housing and sawed the back half off, then fitted in a pin switch I happened to have from an old alarm set up, and reinstalled it, I noticed that the light would not come on unless the door was open, but went off with the door latched but not fully closed, "ajar"... it took a bit of adjustments but now my lights work when the door truely is "ajar"
Thanks, Charlie.
PS, now to go post about the OD light.
