Default FX3 help

Factory manual and Chev dealers no help. Problem:above 50 degrees F, "service ride control" light comes on and stays on. Below said temp, light goes out until brakes are used and then light comes on. In very cold weather, it may not come on until hard (stop) braking. Dealer said motor on left rear has an open winding, wants 1200 bucks to fix. I believe it to be a sensor or the computer unit, but how can I tell for sure? Only code I get is 42.

42 = Selective ride control switch open contacts
You can have a code 42 if you leave the switch in between indented positions

Default Re: FX3 help (Jeffvette)

Problem occurs regardless of swith position (firmly in indent). Hmmmm! The outside temperature has something to do with it. I don't mind paying for repair, if only the people (experts) working on it knew what they were doing. Chevrolet dealer charged $190 to come up with the wrong diagnosis. I always get the feeling that I know more about Corvettes than Mr. Badwrench!
