VATS! how do you read your key code
ok i'm a little spacey tonight. the key is just basicly a resistor right? take a multimeter and read the ohms it should read my code right?
I'm just mad at the vette tonight it's left me stranded again. I want to order the VATS bypass before i put it off again.

take a multimeter and read the ohms it should read my code right?
My reading was in between #7 and #8 keycodes...2.10 k/ohms...I had a local locksmith with a GM VATS Interrogator check it; it was a #7. He had the blanks, too.

Chev dealers can read it and so can several locksmiths. Call around. They're not cheap either. I got a deal on one from Chev and it was about $24.00.

Eddie, what year is your car?
If it's '90 and up, you can put the CCM in diagnostic mode and have it tell you. I've got the instructions at home.
