ok i'm a little spacey tonight. the key is just basicly a resistor right? take a multimeter and read the ohms it should read my code right?
I'm just mad at the vette tonight it's left me stranded again. I want to order the VATS bypass before i put it off again.

Not always...
My reading was in between #7 and #8 keycodes...2.10 k/ohms...I had a local locksmith with a GM VATS Interrogator check it; it was a #7. He had the blanks, too.
