Default adjustable fuel pressure reulator

I am going to be installing a bbk adjustable regualator. What should I bump the pressure up to? 36lb. injectors, 406 motor. If anyone has installed the bbk adj regulator(i lost the spacer washer)could I use something else in its place? thanks in advance to all.

Is your Chip programmed for 36 injectors? If it isn't you don't have enough adjustability between the FP regulator and ECM BLM correction. If you do have the a 36lb chip, I would recommend getting a scan tool and getting your BLM close to 128 and then fine tune your car at the track.

BLK406,

Really with the regulator you need to ensure a few things. I will try to keep it brief.

WIth your very large injectors, you do not need to keep the pressure up real high. I would set it at about 43-45psi for starters.

The main thing with a regulator is it needs to regulate the pressure on the injectors. In other words it needs to keep a constant pressure on the injectors for them to function properly. With that being said. You need to set your pressure reference to atmospheric (vac line off) to say 44psi. With a vac guage you need to find out what your manifold vac is. If its 15" then you
should see about 10psi drop for every 20" if vac. I your case you will see about 7.5 psi drop in FP when you reconnect the vac line. This ensures and tell you that your regulator is going to keep a constant pressure on the injectors throughout your throttle position. If you see that the guage only drops about 5 psi, then increase your pressure another 2.5 pounds and perform the test over again.

If you do not have enough of a drop on the FP guage as described above you will have serious tuning problems and your car will not function properly.

Hope this all makes sence. But its really a simple concept once you understand it and it make a huge difference.

Talk to you soon. I sent you an IM too.
