I recently posted a question about my 85 making some noise and being very loose in the steering. I thought that it was the sway bar bushings. I took it into the shop today and found out that it is the lower ball joints. Does anyone have an idea what you would expect to pay to have them replaced????
Eckler’s has them for $49.00 a piece and you get a small discount if you're a NCCC or CCA member. Also, Volunteer Vette Products has them for $45.00 a piece. Save yourself some cash and take the lower control arms out yourself and have the shop press the old ones out and the new ones in. That should only cost about $50.00 or so. Search the archive on this forum, there are a ton of threads out there on this topic. Good luck! http://www.ecklers.comhttp://www.volvette.com
Sorry but I have know idea as to the quality of their ball joints. I haven't actually purchased anything from them. They're just one of many parts catalogs I receive. At $45 bucks a pop, I figured I’d throw that out there as a money saving option. I went with Eckler's uppers & lowers. The small discount I got made them slightly less than the volunteer units.
