Well Dave, Thanks for the come back. Just to let you know, my first job was with Smittys Shell on Westport Ave in Norwalk, CT, back when a dollar's worth got you 3.2 gallons. How's that for dating myself?!
I have a 92 LT-1 with the HD Meziere water pump. Any problem with this? Send me the particulars please, and could you send/fax me some instructions so I can see what I'm in for? Thanks man. :chevy
I can remember those days, they were GREAT!
My first car only got 6 miles to the gallon and 5 bucks went a long way :yesnod:
I'll send you an email with the installation info.
Thanks Dave, My 57 Chevy got gallons per mile, but that was because of my heavy foot and the need for speed. One of these days I'll grow up...................................... ........................Nah.
Re: Caution for Camber Brace Installers (STL94LT1)
How much did he charge for the install? What is involved? Do I have to remove anything off the front of the engine? Please say no. I've had it all off twice this spring. What a minute, did you say both of your braces? I thought there was only one
Dave didn't charge for the installs. In fact he didn't even charge me for the second Camber-Brace. Dave used my car to build the prototype electric water pump Camber-Brace.
From watching Dave do the install it looks like the electic water pump C/B is a bit easier to install than the original, no twisting or turning. Either way neither Camber-Brace is very hard to install.
Re: Caution for Camber Brace Installers (STL94LT1)
Strick, get the Camber-Brace, you won't be disappointed.
Ok, I've been following this thread and looking at my upper control arms. My Vette ('95) has a cross-member just in front of the upper control arms. It's a fairly substantial chunk of steel. It would seem that this cross-member would stiffen the frame horns enough to eliminate any twisting from control arm forces.
If the camber brace makes so much difference where does it bolt? What does it stiffen?
The brace that you are referring to is made from formed sheet metal and more or less and acts as a frame rail spacer. The Camber-brace bolts to the upper control arm frame horns to provide maximum leverage to prevent the cross-member from flexing.
Atok - like Ron said. I am a 2-time customer. I race both cars extensively. You will definitely notice the difference. The single best "bang for the buck" I've found to improve handling for AX and road course events. And, I've tried most everything - heim joints, poly, lowering, different bars, etc. All those things made improvements, but none made as significant a difference for one change as the Camber Brace. When I got my 2nd C4, the first thing I did was call Ron for a Camber Brace...... Then I washed it. :flag
