"Thank You All" for the overwheming response to my post. I feel truly welcomed into this forum. I have been reading many posts the last couple of days and feel the enthusiasm and comaradarie within this site. I'm really glad to be here.
Welcome to the forum !!! I think you'll find the forum a great resource for everything from a technical aspect to social events and everything in between.
BTW, I'm a control systems software engineer so can understand the need for detail. To me the most improtant step is the plan; then attention to detail wins the race. :yesnod:
65Z01, I am a CNC Control Systems Engineer, PLC, Servo System & Linear/Rotary Transducer engineer.... among other things. If I may ask, what exactly do you do ? .... I'm guessing finding contracts with the state of the industry is a bit more difficult right now.
Welcome to the real world.
I am not too far from you Art. I live in Sacramento and I have a brother that lives in Reno. Maybe when I get up there I will look you up.
Again, welcome to the Forum. :grouphug:
Hi Beach Bum, I work for SBC/Nevada Bell as a Senior Engineer-Loop Electronics Maintenance. I keep our digital, fiber optic, radio, and solar powered systems operating. This equipment is commonly seen on easements of private property. They're usually tan or green cabinets. Simply, these "terminals" convert fiber optic or digital transmissions to plain old telephone service. I'm one of two engineers in Nevada that are responsible for keeping them running. We monitor the temp, charging system rectifiers, batteries, and the digital or optic equipment from failing. Everything has a backup so we are usually somewhat ahead of the game. I work with a great group of people, many of which are car enthusiasts such as ourselves. :steering:
Ciscokid, I was just in Sacramento attending an all Impala SS and B Body Car show at the CHP training grounds. It was a great show including the CHP high speed demo with the motorcycles and the pursuit Camaros. Lately I've been involved with the Region of Doom car club. This club is a gathering of 91-96 Ex Caprice cop cars, Impala SS, Caprice Sedans and Caprice Wagons. BTW, if you ever need anything here in Reno, drop me a line, I'm always in the garage working on mine or a buddies car. I'm kind of the resident mechanic around these parts for our club. I'm always taking on side jobs either rebuilding something or painting someones car. I'm going to modify my sig and include my other cars too. This car stuff is way too much fun. Hanging out on the forum is a blast. I think I spend too much time on the computer though. I'm either on the computer at work or at home in the evenings messing around on the forums or Ebay selling car parts. Cya around.
