Hello all, I just wanted to introduce myself as I just registered on this forum. My name is Art Carabio aka MrRenoman or Renoman on other forums. I'm from Sparks, Nevada which is a small community next to Reno hence my name. I'm 49 years old and have been a Corvette enthusiast since I bought my first new Corvette back in 1982. Since then I have been a member and officer of a couple of Corvette Clubs in Southern California. I joined the Vette Set Inc. of Manhattan Beach in 1987, became President in 1988 and later moved to Hemet, California for a job re-location in 1990. I joined the Butterfield Country Covette Club and became the club Governor for the NCCC until I re-located to Reno, NV back in 1995. Since then I attended a few meetings with the Reno Corvette Club until I became really busy. Since then I had been working on and painting my custom 80 El Camino, the 85 Vet Coupe, the 1994 Caprice SS wagon, and my current project car a 1982 Collector Edition Corvette. I'm now actively working on the Collector Edition and felt that by joining this forum I could gather some more information and also be able to provide some technical assistance for other forum members. I've been a member of the G-body Forum and the Impala SS Forum. These forums are a wealth of information and I've also had the satisfaction of helping others. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to get on board with this forum on the right foot and introduce myself. Hopefully my future posts will not be this long, but I do get somewhat wordy on some of my replies. I can't help it, I'm an engineer by trade and to me it's all in the details. Cya around. :steering:
Welcome to the Forum; I think you will find it both informative and fun.
BTW, I'm a control systems software engineer so can understand the need for detail. To me the most improtant step is the plan; then attention to detail wins the race. :yesnod:
Welcome aboard I don't think you'll find a better bunch of guys than right here on our forum. I drove through Sparks many times when we lived out there in Sacratomatoe. Beware, this site will make you spend lots of $$$$$$$$$$$ just to stay even.
This is the best Corvette forum anywhere although I'm not particularly happy with the forum's software choice due to my own PC-stupidity.
But I can pass on a small bit of something I learned from my own forum software. You can delete your last "Modified By.... at the end of your post if you have to go back and do it again. This way you only have one of those remarks instead of one added everytime you modify that same post. It really doesn't matter to anyone but possibly you. Being as involved in Corvettes as you are, you know the value of how something "looks" if only to yourself.
Obviously, that's something I try to watch, personally.
Art,
Welcome to the center of the universe for Corvette owners and wanters. You should have fun here and get any and all of you vette related questiions answered. Enjoy the ride and the drive. :yesnod:
