why do some people say they used them and they work fine as a stock replacement
Yeah whats up with that? :iagree:
If your ecm can compensate enough for the increased flow, then it will run OK, and you may not notice it. However on a scan the blms will be rich-which effects the calcs for wot etc. And most of the time I've seen the blms maxed at 108-it can no longer compensate and then it's really rich; won't pass smog/ decreased mileage/power.
The ford injectors 24# rating is achieved at a lower fuel pressure than that of your original injectors. I don't know how well the PCM can compensate for the additional fuel w/out reprogramming. Many people using them as stock replacements probably have adjustable fuel press. regulators.

So if you were to lower the fuel pressure, what should it be lowered to? and would it correct the rich reading ay WOT?
Do you NEED a custom chip,.. no. Would it help you get down the strip faster, yeah.
Your tuning will be off a little,... IF you don't spend a whole lot of time at WOT, so what.
FMS injectors are rated at 39 psi. Also, the Ford injectors are slower than the GM ones. To fine tune them, you should change the Inj. Offset vs. Battery
Voltage to a higher value.
The advertised Flow Rate is for 100% duty cycle (full ON).
Useage of the injector should not exceed 80% duty cycle.
FMS injectors are rated at 39psi, GM injectors are rated at 43psi.
Inj. Size = sqrt(Your_Fuel_PSI/Rated PSI) * rated Inj. Size
Also, the Ford injectors are slower than the GM ones.
Huh???

Have you actually had that help!? After tuning fms and accel inj.; maf and map; I've always ended up having to change ve table/maf table for idle blm fine tuning-the vs batt. was never consistant......
