oil pressure
hey i was wondering about what oil preasure every one elses vett runs at at an idle i have an 85 l98 and it seems to be high like 65 to 70 that just seams high to me at an idle. i also havnt drivin it in about 2 years and i dont rember what it was at before i took it off the road and put it away

It should be 45-60psi at cruise, and about half of that at idle.
Check your sending unit, its a fuel filter-looking thing stuck to the back of the intake manifold, behind the distributor and below the wiper motor. I suspect yours is bad if youre getting those readings at idle.

From what ive been told and figured out recently, its impossible to tell whether it or the pump are bad without replacing one. The sender is cheap, like $16 at Advance, so replace it first.
Its a bitch to get at.
