Default DYNO #'s Finally

Finally had a chance to get my Car on the Dyno. It's a '88 Auto., with,1.6 r.r.'s,
Hedman headers, x pipe to muffs. No pollution control, air pump elimanator, chip and k&n.

First pull 244.8 h.p., and 340 torque
second 247.5 hp and 341.4 torque

Going to the track this Friday, see how she runs now.

I'm thinking intake and runners next?????????

Any opinion appreciated.
Thanks

Nice numbers. I would do the intake and runners as well. My mods are pretty similar to yours except I have the Accel base and ASM runners. My hp/tq are in sig.

The headers helped alot after about 3600 rpm. I really noticed the "new" torque. But burnt my first plug wire 100 ft from the shop. :mad

Oh well live and learn. Bought boot protectors and no worries now....I hope.. :steering:

I got the intake from Cruzin Performance for about $400 and I bought the runners used from a forum member. I don't think either individully will gain you much but togehter they work nicely.

Cdnguyred88 & TA,

Are you using stock springs with the 1.6s? Or, did you change springs too? I have everything sitting on the shelf to do a Hot Cam in my 89, but it's 102+ in my garage everyday when I get home from work. I'll do that job in a few months when it cools. I'm wondereing about doing the 1.6 rockers, pushrods, & guideplates real quick though as an interim measure.

Thanks, Paul

Paul, I got the rockers from Comp Cams and got new springs and retainers from them as well. I used the ones they recommended to me, but I don't have the part number off-hand (can get it though, if you need it). I kept the stock push rods and the rockers are self-aligning so there was no need for guideplates. The only other change I made was new valve seals, as my old ones were in very poor shape.

I also changed the springs. I went with what the Shop told me to use. Stock pushrods and comp r.r.'s. I 'm also using the Vortex valves, new seats and mild ported and polish.
Been waiting for about 2 years to do all of this. Was worth the wait, but..... I want more!!!!
BEWARE!!!
It NEVER ends!!!
