Default fuel pressure?

I was wondering if it would be worth adjusting my fuel pressure? Right now i am at 35psi. I think its recommended to be at 40 but i am not sure. What does everyone think? Thanks in advance

Yes, I would do it- adjustable, of course. Not very expensive, easy to install. Most find running a little higher pressure than "stock" improves performance. On a moderately modified L98 I ran 48 lbs. What I run now won't tell you anything because of all the mods, including 30# Ford injectors.

The thinking around our shop is 51 psi.

Before everyone starts screaming think about it. The fuel pressure curve has been going up every year. Those of us that drive the older or first TPI cars are on the back side of that curve.

While I'm not suggesting or recommending that anyone make any changes to their fuel pressure. I will be installing a AFPR and making this change myself...once I over come the "hunting idle" issue that currently plagues me!

85 - 91 L98's should have 34-39 psi. The 92 and later engines should have 41-47 psi.

A friend of mine has a 90 L98 and he's running 51 psi...scalded rabbit!
