I am considering changing my stock mufflers (91 coupe) and adding a pair of Flowmasters. My question is this: (1) how much HP will I be adding and (2) what is the sound like?
Gain will be somewhere around 10hp depending what you have done. The sound is going to be deep and throaty, I had them on my 90 but at highway speeds they made a resonating sound I didnt like. Hope this helps.
I just bought a '94 with Flowmasters. They sound very nice, a low growl and very throaty. I can't say what it sounds like above 60 yet since I just got the plates today and haven't been home yet.
I just came back from the shop with a new pair of dual Flowmasters....they sounds really sweet. I haven't tried them at higher speeds but will tonight when I go home. Thanks for the input.
does anyone have a picture of what they look like on their car? I have a 94 with 3 chamber flowmasters, and they hang down so bad you can see the entire muffler.
I need to replace them but not sure what to do, or what they should look like when I am done.
Thanks
I have a set of Borla mufflers for sale. They came on my car when i baught it you can see them at Borla.com they look great yhey have square tips. 200.00 if interested cost 500.00 new. You can email me at sstirn@yahoo.com.
i have borla on my 91 conv. they have a little to much bass for me below 1800rpm. they are quiet between 2000-3300 rpm. and have a muffled flowmaster growl at 3800-6000. i dont like em. to noisy (that quiet bass thing again) to talk with comfortably at cruising speed (2000rpm) i am going to flow master. my friends camaro sounds better then my vette. better sound with flowmasters across the board. little to loud at any speed but they sound better, and have a mean growl.

Here is a pic of mine=>
PS: Two things. 1. They are no longer on my car, got 3" duel SLP system, and secondly, not real sure why this is in scan&tune section. :skep:
I have the Flowmasters on my 86 and they are coming off! Resonance at highway speeds fills the cockpit so that you can't hear yourself think. Must admit though, they sound great standing outside the car.
