PROM REPROGRAMMING EQIPMENT....
HOW DO I GET STARTED IN REPROGRAMMING MY PROM? I HAVE SPARE PROMS TO PLAY WITH, HOW MUCH AND WHERE CAN I BUY EVERYTHING REQUIRED TO FLASH PROGRAM MY PROM? WHAT ABOUT SOFTWARE?

(I ALREADY HAVE ONE OF THOSE "OFF THE SHELF" JUNK PROMS) AND I DON'T WANT TO PAY SOMEONE ELSE TO CUSTOM BURN A CHIP. I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN HOW TO DO IT MYSELF....

Greg, first off, turn your caps lock off. Second, try posting this in the C4 scan and tune section, you will find tons of help there. Oh, and I have to agree with you on the custom prom, it will beat the hell out of one of those off the shelf units. :thumbs:

This is the exact some programmer I use and it works great.
There are also some free shareware GM tuning software available as well. I use Tunercat because it offers great support and a myriad of ECM definition files, especially for GM trucks.

go to http://www.thirdgen.org go to the diy prom and read traxons post on how to get started. It tells all y0u asked and more.
P.S it's not as easy as 123. it will take time and many trys. If you are looking for an over night deal then pay someone.
