Help identifyng noise
I have a noise which sounds like a rattle, from the left side pre cat. I have had stethoscope on all parts of the engine bellhousing gearbox etc. It seems to start on the exhaust pipe below the manifold and quit prior to the catalic converter. What puzzles me is that the sound has denfinite rhythm and is only there when the engine is at normal running temperture. It is most prevalent at idle or when delerating. Thanx

Sounds like something loose in the pre cat. Drive down to corvette specialties and see if they have a Y pipe with no cats,then get back to me with the price :D They are always closed when i'm at the coast :mad

I'll give them a try. You should talk to Rick at Coast Corvettes 604 597 0400 if you want real good service for Corvette stuff, he is also in Surrey.
