Corrosion
Got stranded last week and blamed it on the opti. This weekend before ordering another (just replaced the opti (bad bearing) 6 weeks ago), I started the testing procedure. This time it wasn't the opti. The plug that goes into the opti was completely corroded. Kind of a bluish/white. What I'd like to know is how it got so bad so quickly and what I can do to prevent it? Should I replace the wiring harness again? I didn't see anything wrong with the plug six weeks ago. It still looked brand new (which is was about a year ago). Didn't see any corrosion on the opti itself thank goodness. I dipped the tip of the plug in baking soda and water and used a small screwdriver to clean it up the best I could. Plugged it back in and the car is back to running as normal. :rolleyes:

So I can put the same dielectric grease I use on my spark plug wires on that plug with no problems? :cool:
