Does anybody have the info on this? 65Z01 you must, I think it was you that I have seen post it before. I'd like to order this unit if you feel it is better than the stocker we got.
Scorp, I did mine and there was zero difference. Actually I was troubleshooting a strange RPM reporting from my ECM last year, so I changed back to my original ESC, but it was still there. Actually never put the other (new one ) back on.
I don't think it does much of anything. All I can remember is there is an 8 in the part number  But that is not much help I suppose. Anything specific your trying to eliminate/sort out?
From what I understand is that the updated one is less sesitive to not only knock but engine noise, Headers, High lift cam. Thus give you a better time.
I have the updated one coming this week and will be running the car on the track this weekend but the bad news is it will have a gutted cat, air delete and 2.5 Y pipe istead of a 1-3/4 :bb So no real # to prove it works.
I bought one of the updated modules after reading a thread on it. Made ZERO difference on my car as well, I changed back to the part number GM calls out as a replacement. If the "updated" module is so great, why doesn't GM use it as a superceding part for all applicable years? BTW from memory I recall that the part# for the updated module ends in 331.
Brian that link above gives the correct ESC upgrade GM P/N.
While chatting with Gordon a few weeks ago at Carlisle I thanked him for that info and he said the part was for a Camaro but I didn't ask what vintage. Anyway it cured my false knock problem and has woked for others here too.
