There's a guy selling a t-trim vortech with a custom intercooler and 8-rib pulley conversion. It made 8psi on his setup. He's selling it to upgrade to a bigger system. How much do you guys think this is worth? I'm trying to figure out how much to offer him.
What all does it come with? I guessing blower, intercooler and bracket. Do you get crank pulley, ignition upgrade, ac line, instructions, fuel system upgrades and some of the miscellanous things needed? Also is this for Lt1 or L98?
It's for an LT-1, came out of a 93 just like mine.
I've been waiting 3 days for him to send pics and this is the email he sends me.
"Here are the pictures of the system, let me know asap as I have another
person wanting the system as well. I am wanting $4,000.00 for the complete
system w/intercooler, modified stock dampener, 3 custom blower pullies, 2
gatorback belts & braided quick connect return line. I will also throw in
the modified radiator housing provided that you replace it with one in good
condition. The only thing you will need is a bypass valve which runs about
$225.00. I also have a optional brand new SFI approved dampener available
which is used on all my vette systems, these pieces run $600.00."
He said he would be able to do $3500 on the phone last week. no ac lines and no coolant stuff inclueded which is $130 and $409 from vortech. No ignition upgrade, no fuel system stuff, but I dont need those.
If I'm not mistaken, the T-Trim is just the street blower which is the equivalent to the Procharger P-600 or P1-SC. Ask him how much CFM/HP the "custom" intercooler can support.
You can get a brand new kit around the price he's asking $3500-$4500.
The best part about the kit is the 8 rib conversion, but I don't know how much that would run from ASP or someone like that.
I've got a fully forged 396 with lowered compression, the t-trim will support 825hp or so, vortech's biggest street blower, you can get the ASP 8 ribbed pulley setup for about $650 and $100 for each other pulley with it.
I am definately aware of my fuel system limitations. I priced out the stuff indificualy and it will come to about $5000 for the parts he's listed if I buy them new. He did tell me on the phone last week that he'd let it go for $3500 but now that he's got another buyer we will see.
I'm still up in the air though. Would you do it if you had the chance???
Well it sounds like a bad A$Z kit regardless with the intercooler and 8 rib setup. Good luck and I hope you get it
PS. You might want to post you mods in your sig so people stop saying "You'll need this and you'll need that" it'll help us understand your limitations and motivations better. :yesnod:
i just think that it is to much? i would hold off adn go to a F1 blower for your car and fab some stuff because it seems you have the motor for it and it is built right why settle on a Vortech aka p600b when you can run with the big dog F1!
I thought about this, but it'll still take $5000 worth of mods before I can buy the $7000 F1 system and run it safely, If I'm really in that much need of power for my street car I've still got up to a 250hp shot of N20 I can use. I think the F1 for me would be overkill.
How much are u willing to pay for a cogged setup? I have one in my car that I designed and built. Absolutely not slippage. It can be adapted to be used on a T Trim Vortech kit but then you would have to fabricate or build a custom intake hat for the blower. Vortec doesn't make a hat for the T trim for a LT1 application. But I think a Procharger hat fits fine.
