I am going to lower my 95 I bought the kit from mid america. the problem is all in the front I've read many different opinions on wether or not to install the shims in the front. So what I was looking for is pics of the car lowered with shims and without so that I don't have to do mine twice. Thanks
Use the shim or shave the shim but don't rest your bare spring against the cross member. Mine is lowered using a piece of nylon cutting board on top of thin rubber left from original mount. :smash:
:iagree: Do not set spring directly on frame. There are weld marks up there that can scratch and cause a stress fracture in the spring. The wedge is there to protect the spring from failure. You can shave it some to get that little smidgen lower if you want it. I have the MAD kit installed and it is plenty low for me. PITA here in SoCal with all the damn dips in the roads.
i actually saw the same pics as you earlier this year and I tried a search the other night but came up with no pics. Thanks. Ill try again later.
The lowering heights will vary with the spring rates as well. I have a 60.0 N/mm spring rate on the front of my '96. I used a VBP lowering kit, I also removed one of the 1/4 metal spacers. I ended up with approximately 3/4" - 1" drop in the front...see sig.
