 So it started Thursday night with a minor adjustment to the TV cable - back to OEM settings just cause I wasn't to happy with the way the car was acting in high. Friday early head for Laughlin for a weekend with the wife out I40. First thing was I had no whiplash shift between 1st and 2nd (this was usual for factory settings) The trans was shifting like an old GM hydro. But what the h---, on we went. 2nd thing - 10 miles west of Barstow, I had to pass a car at 80+ and felt a wheel vibration. 20 miles east of Barstow, got the opportunity to check it out. Starts at 79, quits at 84. Red light flashing in the rear view. 82+ ticket. Left more money in Laughlin to visit money I had left before. Finally got home Sunday afternoon and checked the trans fluid. Not burnt, but seems leave fine black shavings on the rag and appears now to be overfilled. Looks like an new trans is in the offing.
That said, I feel a little better. Thanks

Same thing happened to me about 6 mths ago (Not the ticket part, but everything else)...adjusted TVS cable...then...tranny burnt out a while later...New TH700 and now adjusting that cable is TABU to me!!! Got the guy who rebuilt it to do the final adjustments too; see my posting somewhere WHEN you need to adjust yours after your trans gets rebuilt (Sorry, but...)
80 plus always seems to be the magic number for our CHP to collect a little surtax; below that and they seem to shrug it off. Hopefully, you're record is good enough for traffic school; though the cost: ticket, plus the "processing" fee, plus the cost of the course can sometimes approach the "insurance tax" if you just pay it and forget it.

Over here in Australia, we have in most states, a demerit 'points system'.
What I HEARD recently was when you go to pay your fine, post them a cheque for $2 MORE than the amount and when they send you a refund for that 2 bucks; don't EVER cash it, as UNTIL you DO-the system is setup so that it cannot deduct the amount of demerit points associated with the fine!!

 Urban legend.
poopie! I HOPE NOT after seeing the movie of the same name yesterday!! :cry
Tranny no problem, ticket, dont worry. Worry like me when you just finished installing a 383 stroker with all the fixings. About 10 thousand dollars worth all together not including my time. Start it up...sounds great.....till it seized up because i left a bolt in the engine. That my friend, was expensive. I have some pictures of the piston after it blew up inside the engine. Engine is running again after 3 months and 2 thousand in repairs on top of that. :banghead:

...There's only TWO comments one could make when that happens (Which I'm sure the forum will alter to something amusing!)
