"NEED HELP" Engine heating Problem
I have a 1996 CE LT4 and just had a new water pump installed. The engine cooling system now operates at 18 deg f higher than it did before the new water pump. I really don't see why.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Does anyoneknow what may be going on here?

I think I recall a post a long time ago about the posibility of getting a water pump that will fit but runs backwards. You might find it in an archive search.

As far as I can tell there is no air in the system. The new pump assembly came with a thermostat. IT may be that the new ne is a 195 and the old is a 180. Although the information with the new one is that it should be a 180. They are going to take out the new thermostat and put the old one back in and see what that does.
