need alternate computer chip manufacterer other than hypertech
hey guys,
I need a list of other places I can get a custom burnt chip for my 92 coup. Hypertech has stopped making "custom" chips for my car. So please send some links to other chip burners so I can check them out.

Do yourself a big favor and don't waste your energy with commercial outfits. They won't care about you or your vette, they're faceless corporate twits. Better bet for a custom chip is to contact those here at the CF, one person who comes to mind is Jesse Azzato (ski_dwn_it). I apologize to anyone else who does this kind of work here, but I've contacted Jesse myself and he will do excellent work at a great price.

Try www.pcmforless.com. Brian is a master at LT1 programming and can do OBD-II to OBD-I conversions for even more power.
I noticed that you have a 92 so nm about programming. However, they also sell custom chips although I've not gotten one form them.
I also used PCMforless.. I have a custom chip from them.. Brian does the OBD-II stuff.. Alvin is the guy that does the chips and such for OBDI.. I think the quality was high and the price cheap.. my only critisim is it took A LONG time to get the chip from them.. almost 5 weeks after i paid for it.. However, the did make up for it by giving me 18 months of free reprogramming. I sent the chip back for some adjustment with some datamaster log information i recorded and the programming got better.. however, once again it took awhile.. several emails went unanswered.. (they got real busy)..
I think if I were to do it again I would give ski_down_it a shot.. hes not so big that you dont get any service, hes a fellow vette owner and forum member in which many people here have dealt with and had good results! After that I would go to pcmforless next.. and I want to reinforce that they are second not becqause of quality (because the final program is great!) just service responce time.. which is probably a factor of being successful..

The Formato's are good people to deal with...plus they are right around the corner from you. They are in Tampa (or thereabouts).
If you can get over to see Eileen, they'll put the car on a chassis dyno and tune the chip for optimum performance. You'll drive away with it running like it should. Their price includes unlimited mods to the chip, no matter how many changes you make to the motor.
