Default Ride height adjusting - Any suggestions?

My very stock 86 coupe sits with an obvious tail up stance.(about five fingers) I really like the looks of a C4 with about an inch of clearance between the top of the tire and wheel well opening. Or just about any Corvette for that matter....
Before I start making changes that I may regret, any suggestions the forum may offer are greatly appreciated.

MAD, Eckler's, etc. sell kits with longer rear bolts and smaller front spring "shims". The longer bolts allow you to adjust (drop) the rear to where you want it. The front is not only a PITA, but is a one shot deal (no adjustment). I have heard that there is up to a 3 inch adj. in the rear. The front is worth about 1.5 inches.

Find some 9/16"x10" grade 8 bolts and stoffer lock nuts and replace the stock ones.

Thanks all. There is an opportunity soon to start some mods that this car really needs. 1. Remove all three cats and replace the stock mufflers with something a little more aggressive. 2. There is considerable drive line shake at anyspeed above 75, so all six u-joints are due for replacement, and a loose rear whlbrng. 3. Dropping the tail should be easy enough while the rear is partially apart. Thanks for your input..
