i have a lumpy idle, because i´ve a unknown cam in it...(a little car shaking)
when i spin the engine up to about 4000rpm, i can feel vibrations in the shift lever, you can feel the " rotation", but nothing car shaking, or something
is this considered normal? or should i have the crank balanced? ( i hope not)
Re: engine vibration...how to define?? (corvette90)
Why do you think its the crank? I would make sure its not the ignition system first. Check the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Do all the plugs look the same? Check fuel pressure and regulator. Any trouble codes? Also try spraying some WD-40 around the intake and runners to check for a vac. leak. If none of those work, try a compression test.
i checked the balancer and its in fine condition, doesnt rub at all, its tight and no rubber out of it...
i now, balancing is a ton of work, especially here in Austria, where V8-Engines are relatively rare..
but, what should i say..its more than a car for me, i always dreamt of own one, since i was ten years, it was my big dream....and im willing to spend the money and the time, i want it to run perfectly
