I'm going to buy some EM Stainless longtubes and was wondering what list of things I need to get inorder for it to work.
Headered and X-pipe but what about O2sims where can I get those and is thier anything else you can think of, what about intermediate pipes from the headers to the X-pipe, or will the headers bolt right up to them?
Thank
You should call Merle or Trevor at EM. They have 1.75" LT headers that are coated for about $750. Just as good as SS seeing how they are coated and less money. I didn't even inquire about the SS headers. I installed mine that are coupled to a 3" B&B Triflow cat back. I also got a set of Random Tech Bullet cats which are their high flow metallic substrate cats. No noticable reduction in noise at all with these cats and no reduction in flow whatsoever. These metallic substrate cats will flow around 600 CFM each.
I do have a Dr Gas X pipe in place of the resonator as well. If you have a 96 you will need to install the rear O2 sensors or a set of O2 sims to prevent a DTC or if you have the ability to edit the PCM programming you can delete the rear O2 diagnostics.
I may get a picture of my exhaust for you later today with the CATs in place.
Here is the thread where you can see the installation in my car.
